The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply

At the helm or all at sea?

'Managing a large part of your business that you do not own, cannot see, and which is staffed by people you don't employ'.

That's how Dick Russill describes procurement's role which, in tough economic times, is all the tougher given that the boss wants an endless stream of cost savings just at the point when it is more difficult for suppliers to deliver them.

How should procurement leaders respond? But it's more than just the external suppliers who matter. What about the internal suppliers of business need; authority, and credibility?

The CIPS New Zealand commitee invites you to hear Dick Russill's views on these hot topics delivered in a 40-minute session which is practical yet visionary; humorous yet hard hitting, and daring yet doable.
