An Explanation of CIPS Membership Grades 

Membership Grades Chart

  1. Affiliate Member – There are no entry qualifications for affiliate membership.
  2. Student Member – Studying any professional qualification full time or part time. Students have full access to CIPS Australia benefits at a reduced subscription rate during their course of study.(Evidence is to be provided).
  3. Certificate Member - Achieved minimum Level 3 (CIPS Certificate) or any other CIPS accredited certification to this level.  (See ladder above)
  4. Diploma Members - Diploma Members have successfully completed Level 4 (CIPS Foundation Diploma in Purchasing & Supply) or any other CIPS accredited certification to this level.  (See ladder above)
  5. Associate Member – Successful completion of Level 5 (CIPS Advanced Diploma) or any other CIPS accredited certification to this level. (See ladder above)
  6. Full Member (MCIPS) – Successful completion of Level 6 (CIPS Professional Diploma) or any other CIPS accredited certification to MCIPS level. MCIPS is globally recognised for professional accomplishment. Please refer to our ‘How to Achieve MCIPS’ brochure for further information on pathways. (See ladder above)
  7. Fellow (FCIPS) – awarded to existing Members (MCIPS) with seniority and significant contribution to the profession.  Read more about Fellowship

Member Grading
A grading assessment is available to all members when joining the institute. This is included and costed in as part of the member joining fee. To undertake an assessment, please return your CV and Position Description with this application. Initially most applications will be processed as Affiliate members, unless evidence is otherwise provided.
