CPD 2Successful contract management can rescue even a poorly let contract. Equally, poor contract management can make a mess of the most brilliant category strategy and supplier selection and negotiation process pre-award.

Yet many procurement functions have little or no responsibility for contract management in their organizations. Indeed, some don’t want to have any significant involvement, seeing it as potentially a lot of problems for little reward!

This event organised by Tejari will look at the fundamental justification for doing contract management at all – to manage the risk inherent in contracts, and the (potential) additional value that can be extracted.

We will then cover the key sub-elements that need to be executed – contract administration, managing supplier performance against the contract, managing risk, and handling the inevitable changes and developments we see in all major contracts.

Finally, we will touch on the “raw materials” for successful contract management – people (and skills) and technology.

Following another hugely successful event in 2013, Oil & Gas UK and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing (CIPS) are delighted to bring back this annual seminar to Aberdeen. The theme of this year's seminar is 'Dare to be Different'.

The oil and gas industry is a mature industry in the UK and has evolved in a unique way. However with rising costs and falling production, is that still a sustainable model?

The seminar will address the following questions:

Are we different? Do we need to be different? Should we remain different? Would there be benefit in being more 'mainstream' in our dealings?

Speakers from both within the oil and gas industry, and outwith, will deliver information in order to allow delegates to form their own opinions on the subject matter.

This unique full day seminar is intended as an interactive event, with delegates encouraged to participate and put forward their thoughts and insights.

***Fees do apply to attend*** Find out more here.
