The Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Program is the most challenging and innovative Defence Project in South Australia and also one of the largest Defence Projects nationally. We now have an exciting senior level opportunity for an experienced and qualified Procurement Manager to join our Shipbuilding IPT Management team.
Reporting directly to the Shipbuilding Director, you will be responsible for the management of all Shipbuilding subcontracts, purchasing and capital procurement activities, both locally and internationally, including the development, implementation and achievement of our business strategies, objectives, budgets, policies and procedures.

You will be responsible for the management of a team that oversees Supply Chain support functions, performance measurement, audits, and represents the Supply Chain by interfacing with other business processes throughout the organisation.

PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

Lead the Procurement Buying Team!
This is an opportunity to work on a high profile project that will see you lead the procurement buying team to establish value for money outcomes through liaison with key business partners including the Project Director, Project Managers, Construction Managers, Risk Manager and Legal Counsel.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the development of negotiation plans
- Conducting these plans in driving value for money outcomes
- Managing supply arrangements, preparing tender documentation, calling tenders, evaluating tenders and negotiating contracts.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisation skills and be a strong communicator. This will be coupled with an action oriented and results focused approach.
