Contract Law Masterclass
A two day masterclass to assist procurement professionals further develop skills so that they can recognize the importance of contract law and the risks of terms contained in contracts, which will allow delegates to act in a way that protects their organisations.
Programme Outline:
The Contract Law Masterclass aims to equip procurement professionals with the tools and concepts to:
- Develop capability in the analysis of a situation in order to identify the legal issues which are presented
- Develop the capability to balance the legal perspective on what is contractually and legally possible with what is commercially appropriate in the light of the facts of the situation
- Explore Contractual Terms and Conditions
- Develop Knowledge of Contract Law and Liabilities
- Develop understanding of issues surrounding Damages
Benefits to the delegates (Learning outcomes):
By the end of the two-day masterclass, delegates will be able to:
- Draft contractual clauses that reflect what is legal, protect the rights of their own organisation and enforce the obligations of the other party
- Behave confidently in supplier interactions, such as bid exercises, contract negotiations, supplier management and legal disputes
- Balance legal and commercial considerations in assessing the bargaining power of the parties in a legal dispute
- Understand the value of legal teams and plan for their inclusion.
