Introduction to Procurement


Introductory Course

This course provides an understanding of the basic concepts of procurement. 

Programme content:

This programme will apply facilitated sessions, group discussion and case studies to address the following:

  • The role of procurement in your organisation
  • The stages of the procurement process
  • Selecting the most appropriate procurement method
  • Integration with budget and financial processes
  • Three important influences on better procurement outcomes - probity, record keeping and communication
  • Components of a good procurement framework
