Supplier Evaluation


Intermediate Course

This one day workshop (or two day workshop when taken with Risk Management) examines the ‘what?’ and the ‘how?’ of supplier evaluation, exploring the capture, interpretation and application of information to help achieve better outcomes.

Programme Outline:
  • What information do we need?
  • Do we need the same information for every category?
  • How can we get the quality of information that we need?
  • Making sense of the information; what does it all mean?
  • Applying the information to make choices about the suitability of suppliers.
  • Applying the information to focus negotiation preparation and planning
  • Applying the information to manage supplier performance

By the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Design an appropriate supplier appraisal scheme
  • Research information appropriate for the category
  • Interpret the information using appropriate tools and concepts
  • Use the information to better decisions about supplier acceptability or to set negotiation objectives

This workshop will equip attendees with a range of tools and practical techniques to better appraise suppliers. The opportunity to think about what to do, and how to do it, will refresh your thinking about supplier evaluation and introduce practical methodologies to get better outcomes.
