Exemptions
Unit exemptions may be awarded based on your prior learning or experience

Learners may have already completed studies for other qualifications that have similar content and are of the same standard as the CIPS unit content.
Exemptions are designed to ensure that you do not repeat learning that has already been undertaken and recognised.
We may also award an exemption if you can demonstrate that you have learning from life or work-experience which is comparable to the learning outcomes of one of the units. The relevant experience must have been within the last five years.
Exemptions will be considered for units within Level 3 Certificate, Level 4 Foundation Diploma and Level 6 Graduate Diploma qualifications.
You cannot apply for exemptions from any of the integrative units nor from the core compulsory units of the Level 6 Graduate Diploma qualification. Exemptions cannot be applied for if you have failed a CIPS assessment (examination or work-based assessment) for the unit in the past three years.
Please note that a fee, equivalent to the current examination entry fee, will be charged for each unit exemption.
