How to study

Before studying you need to become a member

To join any of our qualification programmes you must first register as a member. A registration fee is payable together with an annual subscription to maintain your registration and to give you access to the examinations. Your registration also enables us to keep in touch with you through our publications and special mailings. You can join online by completing our secure application form or obtain a printed application pack by contacting our membership help desk on 0845 8801188 or by email.

There are minimum entry requirements and you should check that you meet these by downloading a copy for further details.

You may already have gained qualifications and experience which are included in our programme and which may be acceptable for exemption. This ensures that you can concentrate your studies on the subjects and skills you need to develop.

An individual approach to learning

We recognise that both individuals and their businesses require different ways of studying towards MCIPS. A college course of day release or evening classes does not suit everyone. Therefore, we have developed two alternative learning options – Modular Training and Flexible Learning powered by CIPS-e – both of which deliver Levels 4, 5 and 6.

Modular Training

Intensive tutorial sessions (3, 4 or 5 days) with our training consultants and backed up by the course book.

Select your modules as needed or work towards a level 4, 5 or 6 Diploma.

Flexible Learning

Work at your own pace and attend our two-day expert workshops (Friday/Saturday) with CIPS training consultants.

There are intakes for each level in May and November to help you work towards a level 4, 5 or 6 Diploma.

Distance Learning

A number of organisations, including ourselves give you the chance to study from your home or office at your own speed.

Access online tutor or telephone support as well as a comprehensive range of reading materials.
