Terms and conditions

Booking
Whilst we always try our best to fit late delegates onto our events, you are advised to book early. To book, please complete a booking form and return it to CIPS with the appropriate fee, purchase order number or other authenticating reference. Applications by letter or email should include the same information required on the booking form. Provisional bookings may be made by telephone and confirmed by fax or email.

Payment
Where invoices are to be addressed to a company rather than the delegate(s), the booking must include a purchase order number or other authenticating reference. Fees must be paid within 30 days from date of invoice. Cheques should be made payable to ‘CIPS’. CIPS accepts the following major credit cards - Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Switch debit cards. You can also book and pay by telephone.

Payment must be made, in full, prior to attendance of the event. If payment is not made prior to the delegate attending the event we reserve the right to refuse admission until payment has been made. NB We understand and will exercise our statutory right to interest and compensation for debt recovery costs under the late payment legislation if we are not paid according to the above credit terms.

VAT
Fees quoted are exclusive of VAT, which will be shown separately on the invoice. A VAT invoice will be sent to cover your payment.

Tutors/Consultants
As specialists in the training and development of people, CIPS understands the value of training and how it should be delivered. We ensure that the content, delivery and quality of the courses is of the highest standard and representative of the latest trends and developments in the field of purchasing and supply chain management. All courses are delivered by a carefully selected team of consultants, recognised as experts in their particular disciplines and who are experienced in coaching and providing constructive feedback. They ensure that courses are interactive, stimulating and practical and recognise that, for training to be effective, it also has to be enjoyable.

Training methods
Courses start at 9am and finish at 5pm. Events are a mixture of participative sessions, discussion, group and syndicate activity.

Course documentation
All delegates will be provided with comprehensive coures notes and handouts. Please note that all course literature is copyrighted and may not be reproduced without permission.

Programme
Although details are correct at time of going to print, CIPS reserves the right to make unavoidable changes in the programme. This includes any amendments that may be required as a result of a Graduate Diploma syllabus review. CIPS also reserves the right to cancel an event at any time and offer delegates an alternative date, a credit towards another training event or a refund of fees without any liability for resulting or indirect loss.

Joining Instructions
Joining instructions including venue location will be sent at least 4 weeks before the event.

Venues
Venues are sourced and visited ensuring they meet the standards of CIPS and the needs of the delegates, taking into account any physical, sensory or other disabilities. Venues are normally hotels with good conference and leisure facilities or dedicated conference/training centres.

Creating Accessible Events
The CIPS aims to ensure that its services are available to all. If you have any specific needs please advise us on your booking form and we will contact you to discuss your requirements. Alternatively call 01780 756777 or email training@cips.org

Accommodation
Includes Friday night accommodation, breakfast and dinner.

Cancellations
Where a firm booking has been accepted by CIPS and is subsequently cancelled, the customer will be liable for the following charges: for cancellations received between four and eight weeks of the course commencement date the CIPS shall be paid 50% of the course fee; within four weeks of the course commencement date CIPS shall be paid the full course fee. These conditions apply whether or not delegates fail to attend or transfer to a later course. Substitution may be made up to 4 weeks prior to the course.

Reasonable Adjustments
Candidates who require additional support when attending the course or sitting the CIPS examination should apply to the Training Courses Organiser – Qualifications no later than 8 weeks prior to course commencement. The Institute’s policy on reasonable adjustments together with an application form is available on request.

Exam Complaint Procedure
Complaints against providers - If a complaint concerns an issue within the control of a centre, the candidate should complain to the centre in the first instance and copy any correspondence relating to the matter to CIPS Education Services Manager. If having been through a centre’s complaints or grievance procedure, the matter remains unresolved, CIPS may consider, if it is appropriate, intervening on behalf of the appellant.

Complaints against CIPS - If a candidate wishes to raise a complaint relating to the work of CIPS they should notify CIPS Education Services Manager within two weeks of the alleged incident. The complainant will be sent an acknowledgement letter within one week. CIPS will investigate the complaint and communicate its findings to the complainant. Whenever possible this will be completed within one month of the date of the complaint was received. If the matter is not resolved, CIPS will undertake further investigations, including, where necessary arranging for an independent review of the case.

Feedback Reports
Sometimes delegates would like to have more information on how they performed in an examination. For a fee, CIPS will provide a feedback report and delegates should write to CIPS within two weeks of results being received with payment by cheque or with credit card details (including expiry date). An examiner will review the answer script and provide a detailed feedback on each question, highlighting the areas of strength and weakness. The examiner will also indicate what else a candidate could do or should have included to improve a particular answer.

Appeals Procedure
If delegates consider that a mistake has been made in their marking CIPS has an appeals procedure where, for a fee, the answer script will be scrutinised by a second examiner to check the fairness and accuracy of the marking. Full details of the appeals procedure including an appeals application form will be available on the CIPS website. Forms, including payment by cheque or with credit card details (including expiry date), should be completed and returned to CIPS within two weeks of the results being received.

Examination Re-sits
In the event that a candidate shall fail an examination they should apply to the CIPS Membership Department for acceptance on the earliest external examinations. These are provided annually in May and November, at centres located throughout the United Kingdom and in many other parts of the world.

Equal Opportunities
The Institute is committed to policies based on equal opportunities. This commitment underpins and impacts on every area of activity. With regard to membership this means that no applicant will receive less favourable treatment on grounds of gender, colour, ethnic or national origin, socioeconomic background, disability, religious or political beliefs, family circumstances, sexual orientation or other irrelevant distinction.
