What does the fee include?
For Flex-e One, the course fee includes morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch each day, plus dinner bed and breakfast overnight accommodation on the Friday night. Students will also receive a copy of the CIPS Course Book and e-learning modules for each unit. Additional textbooks, membership and examination entry fees are not included. Should students wish to arrange accommodation for the night prior to the workshop they can contact our booking agent. Details will be included in the Joining Instructions.
When and where are the examinations?
Students are required to submit their own examination entry forms together with the necessary fees for all examinations which are held in May and November. Enrolment forms contain all information regarding registration including a list of examination centres and are automatically sent to student members. They may also be downloaded from the website. Do I need to do any pre-course reading?
For Flex-e One, Joining Instructions, including a copy of the CIPS Course Book relating to the first workshop, will be sent out 4/6 weeks prior to the course commencement. This gives students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the subject prior to the tuition day. In addition you can buy the recommended textbooks. Can I opt to study for selective units?
The Flexible Learning options One and Three have been designed as a complete course at each Level. In the event that a student chooses not to study for all subjects, there cannot be any reduction in the fee. Revision units are available by individual unit.
What if I have exemptions?
Again, due to the nature of the programme, there could not be any reduction in the fee.
How do I access the CIPS-e on-line material?
Once your application has been processed you will be given details of how and where to login so you can start making use of the Knowledge Bytes and on-line tutor. You will also be able to access the e-learning units.
Do the assignments count towards your final grade?
No, although the assignments included in the Flex-e One programme are set in the same style as examination questions and tutors believe that they offer valuable practice at answering exam questions.
What if I find I’m struggling with the reading?
On-line tutor support, along with a telephone helpline are available to students where needed. There is also the CIPS website which provides a wealth of material including, Knowledge Summaries and Knowledge Now papers, past exam question papers, marking schemes and examiners’ reports. As a student member you will also receive the Qualifications Update and Supply Management publications.
