Programme
Setting the Scene
This programme begins with diagnosing individual Influencing prowess using the Emotional Intelligence measurement tool in questionnaire format prior to the event. The programme then moves onto revealing how to build executive competence in this area through the use of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
“A high level of emotional intelligence is one of the strongest predictors of a manager’s potential”
This is a quote from the Sunday Times regarding research undertaken at Allied Domecq, who used the emotional intelligence measurement tool to search out their star performers in relation to negotiation and leadership skills. This session helps delegates understand their EQ (opposed to their IQ), and how this can be used to gain competitive advantage in the work place. Results are returned confidentially, and benchmarked against peer group and CEO/MD group in order to diagnose potential areas for development.
“If you want to learn how to persuade someone, first you must understand where they are coming from.”
Advanced influencing techniques are a sought after commodity by those in senior management positions. For those in the know, NLP is the most commonly used tool to help develop the Executive’s personal persuasion armoury. Normally developed through executive coaching, this technique includes:
- thought patterns and body language
- eye movements linked to brain activity
- subliminal linguistics
- the structure and breakdown of language – what someone really means when they say something
- spotting manipulation and employing defence strategies
- how mind reading works in reality
- controlling conversations through the pace and lead process
- the brain and influencing
