The Procurement Challenge

CIPS in partnership with City Law Firm Eversheds will be running an insightful campaign around challenges to procurement in the Public Sector. The overview of the context and the challenge will be presented by Mike Mousdale a partner at Eversheds and will be hosted by Roy Bell of the Central Procurement Directorate in Northern Ireland.

Event outline will look at the issue of market exclusion, the legal rights of bidders, including freedom of information. How can your procurement be challenged , what are the current remedies, the mandatory standstill period - getting it right. Evaluation and transparancy - the case law you need to know. Identifying, managing and avoiding challenge and the Remedies Directive made simple.

 This is a free of charge event for CIPS members - Commencing 4.30pm until 7.00pm

 Open innovation events at the Institute of Manufacturing (IfM)

Two one-day workshops at the IfM, Cambridge - 20 and 21 April 2010 with a linking networking evening on the 20th.

Todays rapidly changing technologies and complex markets mean that few firms can innovate using only in-house resources. As a result, many firms are trying to implement ‘open innovation’ by looking outside their organisation to find new ways of creating value. However, working and sharing information with other companies creates many challenges and pitfalls. These two workshops will present practical approaches to help businesses of all sizes successfully implement open innovation.

Public Procurement: Global Revolution IV

19-20 April 2010 
The University of Nottingham, Jubilee Campus Conference Centre

This major international conference will bring together academics and those in practice to discuss key current issues in public procurement regulation and education. The conference will be run under the EU-funded Asia Link project for developing a global academic network in public procurement regulation. The conference will be attended by policy-makers, lawyers and practitioners from around the world, including from the main international organisations involved in procurement regulation, and by the world’s leading professors and researchers.
