Membership 

My membership has expired, how can I renew/rejoin?

The quickest and easiest way to pay is online. Your renewal date is always available on your MyCIPS dashboard. Please click here here to renew/rejoin today. Please note, we also send three email reminders from as early as three months before your renewal date, as well as one last reminder on the due date, by email. If you did not receive those, please do let us know.
Why have my membership fees changed?

At CIPS we are totally focused on making sure that the income from membership is used in the very best way to support our members, and as part of that process every year we review the fees that we charge for membership. It is crucial that we meet our current costs and are able to invest for the future benefit of our members, and it is for that reason that it has been necessary to increase the membership fees.
How do I join CIPS?

What is MCIPS and how can I apply?

What is Chartered Status and how can I apply?

Chartered Status helps you to evidence your commitment to your professional career and ethical procurement and supply practice. View how to upgrade to Chartered Status here

This also requires the completion of the CIPS Ethical Procurement and Supply eLearning and test demonstrates your commitment towards ethical procurement and sustainable supply chains. Find out more about the Ethics Test here

Why does my Chartered Status certificate have an expiry date?

Your Chartered Status is valid for one year, your eCertificate’s expiry date indicates when you need to update your Chartered Status. To update/maintain your Chartered Status, you'll need to make sure you have a current membership, complete the CIPS Ethical Procurement and Supply eLearning and have recorded a minimum of 30 hours CPD activity within the last 12 months.

Do you offer a discounted membership depending on my situation?

If you feel this is appropriate to you, please go to your MyCIPS dashboard and fill out the Concessionary Rate application form in My requests & applications. To read the policy in full, follow this link

How do I change name on my record?

To apply to change your name, you'll need to complete our Name Change application form from your MyCIPS Dashboard 'My Requests and Applications’ and submit evidence.

When will I receive my membership certificate?

All membership grade certificates including chartered status (MCIPS/FCIPS) are available to view from your MyCIPS Dashboard in an electronic format and can be accessed at any time while your membership is current. If you have recently been upgraded, Please allow up to 24 hours, for your new membership certificate to generate.

When you achieve Fellowship (FCIPS) we will print and post your first FCIPS Certificate as part of your upgrade. You will also be able to access the digital eCertificate.

For our members who are successfully awarded Chartered Status (MCIPS Chartered or FCIPS Chartered), you will also receive an electronic Chartered Status certificate.

 

Exams

How can I book my exam?

Firstly, you must be a current student member to enter for CIPS exams. Once you've joined, take a look at our exam schedule to stay up-to-date with the upcoming exams. Where can I find my exam booking confirmation?

Simply screenshot your exam booking in My Exams and results and bring this with you on exam day.

I have booked the wrong module and/or date by mistake. How can I change this?

You will need to go to your MyCIPS dashboard and find your exam in My exams and results and cancel the wrong booking. You will need to request a refund, and you will then be able to book again. Please however, make sure you check you are within the deadlines

How do I cancel my exams?

To cancel your exams, you will need to go to your MyCIPS dashboard and find your exam in My exams and results and cancel your exam booking. You will need to request a refund, however, please make sure you check you are within the deadlines

How do I cancel my exams outside of the booking window?

We're only able to accept cancellations outside of the booking window based on medical reasons, and we will need formal evidence such as a doctor’s note. You can find more information about authorised cancellations on our policies page.

How do I apply for a reasonable adjustment or special consideration?

We have a responsibility to ensure all candidates have equal opportunities to reach their full potential. In some instances, candidates may require adjustments to the assessment process. Applications should be submitted to us before the exam entry closure date of the assessment. You can find more here. To apply for a reasonable adjustment, the application form can be located in your MyCIPS area under My Requests and Applications within ‘Exam Related Applications.'

Candidates may apply for special consideration in instances that could not possibly be predicted. Applications must be made within 2 days of the date of the exam or assessment. This also applies to candidates wishing to report any incident which may have affected their examination or assessment performance. You can find out more here. You can submit your application by heading to your MyCIPS area and My Requests and Applications within ‘Exam Related Applications’.

When will my exam results be released?

You'll be able to find the exam results release date by viewing our timetable here. Exam results will be available in your MyCIPS dashboard once they have been released.

If I am not happy with my exam result, can I request a review?

If you're unhappy with the outcome of your Constructed Response (CR) exam, you can request for a review. We are not able to provide a review for any Objective Response (OR) exams as these are marked by computer and then moderated by CIPS examiners. You can find out more here

When will I receive my qualification certificate?

You will receive an email confirming that your certificate is due for despatch and when, shortly after your exam results. Certificate delivery times vary depending on destination and could take up to eight weeks to arrive. If you have not received an automated email, please let us know here

I still haven’t received my certificate after 8 weeks, what now?

We’re sorry you have not yet received your certificate. If your address was correct at the time of despatch, you will qualify for a free replacement. Please contact member services here.
If your address was incorrect and you have since amended your details, you will need to purchase a replacement which you can find here

What is the total cost of the course?

I have a degree; can I start at Level 5 or 6?

The level 4 Diploma is the highest starting point for CIPS qualifications, even if you have a previous degree. However, if you feel you have already covered the content of any of the modules through previous learning, you may be eligible for exemptions. Find out more about applying for exemptions here.

I don't have a study centre near me, how can I study?

I'm studying the CIPS Corporate Award and need to submit an assignment. How do I do this?

You can now upload your assignments via our application form. Head to your MyCIPS dashboard and My Requests and Applications and fill out the appropriate form under Corporate Award Programme – Assignment Upload and Extension Forms.

How do I verify a members qualifications

For CIPS to verify a members qualifications we require you to complete our 3rd party verification form on our website here.

If you are looking to confirm that someone is a member of CIPS and what membership grade they hold, you can also do this by searching their name or membership Number on our Professional Register located on our website here.

Study guides, eBooks & eLearning

When is the last date to order CIPS study guides for 2024?

The final date to place your order for CIPS study guides (hardcopy books) this year is 17 December 2024
What happens if I order study guides after 18 December?

Please note that from 18 December 2024, all study guide (hardcopy book) purchases will not be processed until 6 January 2025. During this time, you can continue to purchase eBooks and eLearning.
How can I order study materials?

Study materials such as the Study Guides, eBooks and eLearning, can be purchased with either a debit/credit card or PayPal account, directly from our website here.

If I just use the eLearning, will this be enough to pass the exam?
add

Whilst the eLearning is a great companion to the Study Guides and eBooks, we do advise that you would not be able to pass exams purely from the eLearning alone and recommend purchasing the Study Guides and/or eBooks.

It’s important to remember that all exam questions are based off the Learning Outcomes from the syllabus of the qualification you are studying, and we recommend that you review these Learning Outcomes in conjunction with the study materials.

Can I access my online study materials if my membership has lapsed?

Yes. You’ll still be able to access the My Learning section from your MyCIPS Dashboard, regardless of your membership status.

Please be aware that eBooks are available for fiv years from the date of purchase and eLearning material is accessible for one year from the date of purchase.

Can I make changes to my book order once it has been placed?

No, once your order has been placed, we are not able to make any changes.

Please ensure that the details of your order, including the items you wish to purchase and the delivery address, are correct before making any payment.

I've just brought an eLearning product, how do I access it?

eLearning materials can take up to three working days to be allocated to the My Learning section of your MyCIPS Dashboard. However, you will also receive email confirmation once access to your eLearning is available.

eLearning is accessible for one year from the date of purchase. After this, the licence period will expire, and you’ll have to make another purchase to regain access to the content.

I've just brought an eBook, how do I access it?

eBooks can take up to three working days to be allocated. You will receive two emails with instructions about how to access your eBooks both online and offline.

Please be aware that these emails may fall into your junk/spam mail folders, so please check these folders in your personal email account before contacting us.

eBooks are accessible for five years from the date of purchase. After this, the licence period will expire, and you’ll have to make another purchase to regain access to the content..

I'm not a member, can I still purchase study materials?

Yes. You can purchase any of our study materials without having to join CIPS as a member. You just need to create a “non-member” account with us.

However, some study materials may offer a discount if you have an active membership with us.
