NHS Supply Chain achieves CIPS Certification

The provider of medical and non-medical supplies to the NHS has been challenged to save the NHS £1 billion by 2014/2015 through efficiency savings. Most of its customers are in the public sector and are affected by the severe spending cuts. NHS Supply Chain is responding by working collaboratively with NHS trusts and other public sector health organisations to combine spend with suppliers.

Future challenges include the drive for increased efficiencies across healthcare, accelerated innovation and the goal of improving frontline patient care.

Attaining CIPS certification shows its procurement processes and strategies are among the best. Joanna Timmerman, Managing Director of Procurement, said: “We are constantly evolving to excel in purchasing performance for the benefit of the NHS. Our partnership with CIPS is key to developing this powerful agenda.”
