As an experienced procurement professional you may think you know all there is to know about your trade. Sustainability, negotiation, strategic supply chain management are everyday terms to you but if we talk branding, emotional intelligence and buying signals do you really know what they mean? When used correctly these tactics and skills can take you and your procurement team to the next level. This half day conference is aimed at giving you added expertise to really enable you to ‘communicate the real value of procurement’.

Once again we have bought together four experts in their field to share their knowledge of brand building, marketing, emotional intelligence and relationship building to make sure that the perception you are portraying in the workplace is adding to a positive experience for your stake holders and suppliers, elevating procurement to the ‘go to team’ for problem solving and innovation.

We are delighted that at the time of the event the gallery will be displaying the Turner Prize shortlisted artists prior to the winner’s announcement in December. We have built in to the programme viewing time of this world famous award.

Speakers

Andrew Coulcher FCIPS, Group Director of Knowledge and Membership, CIPS

Andrew Coulcher was appointed Director of Knowledge & Membership at the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply in February 2010. His team is responsible for Knowledge management, Membership and networks, CIPS Corporate Certification and representing CIPS within the Public Sector

Andrew is an accomplished procurement professional with a background in strategic sourcing, deployment of e-Procurement technology and creating new business ventures within a large corporate environment. Previous roles have included Head of Sourcing at Ericsson, responsible for direct and indirect procurement, and Global Procurement Director at Motorola, leading a global team involved with product and services procurement for manufacture and deployment of 2-way radio and cellular networks. His achievements include delivering indirect procurement cost savings of $100M against a managed spend of $1.3B and deploying e-Procurement technology in 26 countries serving more than 12,000 users.

David Loseby FCIPS

David has over 25 years’ experience at senior executive/director level driving value and change through procurement and organisational transformation.

David’s varied background spans roles in private sector and public sector roles with significant global experience, sector diversity and responsibilities such as, Oaktree Fund Management, Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS trust, Westminster City Council, Associated British foods (ABF), Carphone Warehouse plc. (CPW), Barclays Bank plc. WS Atkins plc. & SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline). His earlier career was spent in the Construction and Property sectors.

Currently he is Group Procurement Director for Inchcape plc. Responsible for procurement across 27 countries with an annual turnover of £6.8 Billion. Currently the principal architect behind one of the key strategic pillars for leveraging global scale across the group. His experience in providing behavioural architecture programmes is enabling key initiatives currently.

Cath Hill, Group Director, CIPS

Cath is a member of the CIPS Group leadership team. She joined CIPS in June 2011 as Marketing Director and is now responsible for a global portfolio that also includes PR, Representation, Publications, Events and Communities. Cath has an Executive MBA from Cranfield University School of Management. She has worked in marketing and general management in a number of sectors including insurance, retail, leisure and information services. She led the launch marketing strategy of Bluewater, then Europe’s largest retail and leisure destination, and established Scoot as one of the UK’s biggest (and earliest) digital brands. More recently she has been responsible for integrated insurance marketing strategies for the likes of M&S, HSBC and RAC.

Cath regularly chairs and presents at CIPS events and other conferences, and is a spokesperson for CIPS on topics such as the role procurement has to play in eradicating modern slavery and the need for the profession to raise its game and raise its voice.

Gerry Walsh FCIPS, Group CEO, CIPS

Gerry is the interim CEO for CIPS. he is a past president of the Institute (2006/7) and has served on both CIPS Council and Board.

Gerry is seen as an outstanding Procurement Supply Chain professional who has operated at Board level across a number of industries. Most recently he was Chief Procurement Officer for Amey, a division of the Spanish Infrastructure company Ferrovial where he successfully led the integration of two £1 billion + businesses. Prior to this Gerry was Procurement Director for the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) for London 2012 for which he won the CIPS Supply Management Professional of the year Award in September 2012.
