Professional Qualifications

Join OnlineYou will join CIPS as a Student Member and gradually work your way through our qualifications, giving you the underpinning knowledge you need to achieve MCIPS. Depending on the qualifications and experience you already have, you may be exempt from some units of study and we will advise you on this before you commence your studies. You can study anywhere in the world, at a CIPS study centre; by joining a distance learning programme; or through self-study where you learn at your own pace.

Join online now or download a membership form.

Accredited Degree and S/NVQ

If you are studying for, or have already completed a CIPS accredited degree or postgraduate programme within the last 5 years, you will either become fully qualified at the end of your studies, or you may need to undertake some top-up programmes of study to gain MCIPS. If you are still studying you will need to join as a Student Member and if you have completed your studies you will join as an Affiliate Member, before being awarded full MCIPS membership. Some universities offer students free membership of CIPS as part of their course, please check with your tutor if this is the case.

S/NVQ Level 4 in Supply Chain Management is no longer accepted as a valid route to MCIPS.

Management Entry Route (MER)

If you are a senior procurement and supply professional, you can gain recognition for your achievements through MER. You will join us initially as an Affiliate Member and be required to undergo a series of individual assessments. If successful, this can result in either MCIPS being awarded immediately, or some additional study to fill knowledge gaps before you become MCIPS.

Corporate Award

CIPS offers applied work-based programmes as an alternative route to MCIPS, for learners who prefer not to study academic qualifications and sit exams. Known as Corporate Award, it is a practical, assessment-based way of learning, which provides proven return on investment. For groups of learners, programmes can be tailored to your industry sector or your organisation.

Affiliate Membership

Join OnlineJoining CIPS as an Affiliate Member means you become part of a powerful network of over 100,000 people in 150 countries. It’s a great way to stay up to date with developments in the profession and you will have access to all of our benefits, resources and events.

Affiliate membership is for non-studying members and those joining with the aim of applying for MCIPS through the Management Entry Route.

Fellowship

CIPS Fellowship, or FCIPS, recognises outstanding achievement and commitment to the profession. It is not a professional qualification but an accolade with tangible benefits and acknowledgement amongst your peers.
