It also revealed a large group of bottom-quartile performers that add limited value to their organisations.

By offering cross-sector programmes around the UK, we aim to make the training available to a wider market, in particular smaller businesses and public sector bodies that may not have courses available to them otherwise.

Join a growing number of businesses taking the ethical initiative

Organisations are coming under increasing pressure from their customers and the media to manage their supply chain within strict guidelines, driving out any potential malpractice. The CIPS Corporate Ethics Mark is awarded to organisations that demonstrate commitment to ethical values across all procurement and supply practices, including training its entire procurement team. Those achieving the Mark are also recognised with a listing on the Ethical Register.

A recent addition to the register is Servest, a leading facilities management company in the UK.

Jon Stevens, Group Head of Commercial at Servest, said: "It’s great to see that the team's dedication to ethical practice has been recognised and celebrated. The procurement team have all worked so hard to make this wonderful achievement possible. Going forward, we will continue to ensure that our practices stay in line with the code guidelines."

CIPS Ethical Procurement and Supply E-learning has recently been updated with a new Sustainable Procurement module for 2017 that scrutinises the broader implications on society and the environment of unethical and ineffective practices. The training and test continue to be free for CIPS members, helping professionals to demonstrate their understanding of ethical values in sourcing and supplier management.
