Society will neither need nor want professionals to work as they have done up to now. The legal profession is already operating in a world where the annual eBay trader disagreements that are resolved using online dispute resolutions outnumber all the lawsuits filed in the entire US court system by three to one. More people have signed up for Harvard’s online courses in a single year than have attended the actual courses on campus in the university’s 377 years of existence.
