Brexit-prompted price increases continue

Microsoft has followed Unilever in adjusting charges to reflect currency changes, and businesses across the globe are facing greater pressure to reduce prices while coping with increased costs of production.

“We periodically assess the impact of local pricing of our products and services to ensure there is reasonable alignment across the region and this change is an outcome of this assessment,” Microsoft said.

The news came less than a fortnight after Unilever got into a spat with Tesco and disputes like this are expected to become more common, as suppliers and resellers argue over who is going to carry the burden of a reducing profit margin.
