NWPD: procurement awards can drive success

North West Procurement Development (NWPD), which exists to drive improvements among 35 hospital trusts in the North West of England, established its awards in 2013.

Deputy director, Brian Mangan brought the idea from procurement awards he ran with one of the trusts in 2011 following a suggestion from his boss who had seen the benefits of such competitions in the private sector.
