How to achieve CIPS Chartered status

8 June 2018

A flurry of posts on LinkedIn highlights the success of a CIPS innovation

Within two weeks of CIPS introducing a system using continuing professional development (CPD) to accelerate the route to Chartered status, over 250 members were accredited.

“This recognises them as the most sought-after individuals in the profession,” says CIPS interim CEO, Gerry Walsh. “Many professionals already undertake training, qualifications and other activities to support their career, so this is an opportunity to formally log these activities and gain Chartered status.”

Members are eligible if they earn 30 CPD hours a year – attending courses, webinars, reading SM – and have an up-to-date CIPS Ethics Certificate.

“Another day, another #procurement #career milestone reached. Love the new CPD pathway.”
Chris Cliffe FCIPS

“The importance of keeping your CPD up to date! Just managed to attain Chartered status!”
Sharon Croome FCIPS

“Feeling proud to earn Chartered status - a morale booster.”
Imran Yousaf MCIPS

“It gives me confidence to know I am at the top of my professional game.”
Kate Jarvis-Grove FCIPS

“I encourage all MCIPS and FCIPS that meet the criteria to apply.”
Salisu Uba MCIPS
