Posting and tendering for public-sector contracts is to be made easier with the planned introduction of an updated common procurement vocabulary (CPV).
The CPV is a list of 9,000 sector and product codes that enable companies to identify contract opportunities, irrespective of language and country.
The amended system "will enable firms to locate their requirements more easily", said Carl Kocklebergh, practice development officer at CIPS.
The European Commission is seeking comments on the proposed changes to the CPV.
