Baan has pooled many of its applications to provide a complete solution for the automotive supply chain.

iBaan for Automotive integrates enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relation- ship management, supply chain management and collaborative private exchanges. It is designed to improve business-to-business collaboration, access to information portals, indirect material procurement, enterprise management and manufacturing.

The solution aims to provide a single environment to integrate customer demand, manufacturing, purchasing and finance and improve the communication between customers and suppliers, specifically addressing the discrete and repetitive nature of automotive manufacturing.

Liz Buchheister, industry director, automotive, said the solution is a versatile toolkit built on Baan's existing ERP offering. "Whether a customer wants to improve communications with its suppliers, manufacturing efficiencies or control of spending on maintenance, repairs and operations procurement, it can select those tools that will help accomplish his strategy."

Baan has over 125 global customers in the automotive sector.
