Business integration solutions vendor Tibco has upgraded its existing enterprise portal software to integrate workflow and web services.
Tibco ActivePortal version 4.0 ties Internet services, legacy systems, messaging and e-business application integration adapters under a common portal framework.
The ActivePortal aggregates information and interfaces from back-office systems and public or internal web services and delivers data to users whenever key information changes or events occur.
The integration points have been devised to give companies visibility of the entire value chain and manage ongoing business information.
The latest version also contains a range of services to enable effective collaboration, including portal communities and tools to publish documents and web content.
Tibco has also formed a global alliance with the consultancy Accenture. The aim of the joint venture is to help companies integrate Oracle's 11i e-business software with existing back-office systems from vendors such as SAP, PeopleSoft and Siebel.
