Online content management company Reqio has teamed up with remotely hosted e-procurement systems vendor Elcom to develop joint e-business solutions.
The aim of the partnership is to combine Reqio’s strengths in developing online and CD catalogues for suppliers with Elcom’s experience in enabling buyers with e-procurement systems and e-marketplaces.
The alliance has resulted in an online catalogue of more than 130,000 electronic components for distributor Premier Farnell.
Reqio recently secured second round funding, but Stewart Holness, its chief executive, said the partnership will bring added strength.
“We want to guarantee our success by creating a network of alliances that can operate for common benefit.”
The deal is also Elcom’s second major alliance in recent weeks, following the co-development of its Dynamic Trade Centre with sourcing software company Diligent.
The latest version of this sourcing platform is a “best of breed” solution, which was based on Diligent’s recently upgraded SourceSelect.
