Sourcing solutions vendor Moai Technologies' latest offering aims to help buyers identify, evaluate and manage their suppliers according to a wide variety of criteria.

Moai's CompleteSource 4.5 allows users to evaluate suppliers on parameters important to them, such as price, switching costs, past performance, product quality and delivery times.

It also contains a calculator to work out the complete cost of a particular supplier, based upon the bid price and extra considerations including duties, fees and taxes.

The release marks Moai's second product launch since it merged with US-based software company Medebiz in January.

The first fruit of the joint venture was CompleteSource 4.1, launched in February, which gave users greater visibility of the bidding process.

Ramesh Mehta, chief executive of Moai, said the latest release will prepare users for a fully integrated sourcing suite to be launched later this year.

"While it focuses on the introduction of a richer set of bidding functionality, we have set the stage to add collaborative capability across our entire suite."

The latest launch coincides with Moai's establishment of a strategic sourcing consultancy practice to help customers prepare the business case for e-sourcing, implement software and reap the potential benefits of its range of solutions.
