Enhanced e-procurement software and a new sourcing solution are the first releases from Baan's recently set up supply chain management unit.
The software, iBaan E-Procurement 2.2, adds capabilities for warehouse requisitions, and upgraded approval processing and provides receiving and invoicing options.
It can be integrated with iBaan Sourcing, which builds on Baan's experience in back-office systems to help commodity managers create and distribute requests for quotations, analyse bids and monitor contracts.
Baan formed separate business units focusing on different stages of the supply chain earlier this year. The other teams focus on developing customer relationship management and product life-cycle management software.
The firm has also outlined its plan for OpenWorldX, a platform for the creation of business process solutions to be launched early next year.
The release will be followed by applications focusing on supplier collaboration and engineering.
