Rod McPhee has been promoted to the newly created post of head of UK sourcing as part of a major shake-up for procurement at media giant Reuters.

McPhee, who was global sourcing transformation director, said the changes moved purchasing from a category management set-up to a country and local supplier arrangement.

McPhee will be responsible for all third-party procurement except IT and business information content such as broker data.

"It was decided that IT needed global suppliers because it was a case of global deployment for us," he said.

The other heads of sourcing are for America, Asia and the combined region of Central America, Middle East and Africa.

Also in London, Liz Goodchild has been promoted to global head of content. Previously, she was global category head for professional services, a position that no longer exists.
