Marianne Culver has been appointed to the new position of group director for global supplier marketing at electronics distributor Premier Farnell.
Culver will focus on the Newark InOne and Farnell InOne companies.
She is responsible for global sourcing and marketing for suppliers of electronic and computer components for resale.
Culver has 17 years' experience in the component and distribution business, and was previously president of semiconductor distributor Silica.
Premier Farnell has had a strong basis in supplying components for the maintenance, repair and operations market.
But the company is making a big push to supply clients when they are at their engineering and design stage, according to Culver, who is based in London.
"We want to rationalise and consolidate our supplier community," said Culver.
"We'll look at where to put our extra resources: for example, increased product marketing."
Premier Farnell links more than 3,000 suppliers to their markets and offers a range of over 400,000 products, with access to several million more.
It operates in 21 countries and trades in more than 100, with 5,000 employees worldwide.
