Lance Younger has been appointed to lead a new team at procurement consultancy Ariba, offering advice to customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Younger is based in London, but his 10-strong team will be located across the EMEA region.

He hopes to add another 10-15 staff to meet demand and bring it in line with the US team, which has around 25 people.

The EMEA team has been launched in response to client demand for consultancy that includes software and general purchasing advice.

"Spend management is now recognised as a key strategic business process. My new position involves helping the supply chain team to focus on sustainability and bettering the capabilities of purchasing departments."

Younger previously worked as a consultant for accountancy firm Ernst & Young and Japanese carmaker Nissan.
