The CIPS Supply Management Awards 2005 are officially launched today.
Entries are now invited for 12 categories, including three new awards for this year.
They are best cross-functional teamwork project and separate awards for most improved purchasing operation for a new department and an established function.
There are also individual awards for the CIPS and Supply Management Professional of the Year, with a separate category for those aged 25 or under.
The awards are being run in association with Ariba and sponsored by Atos Consulting, SAP, Hays Purchasing Kellysearch and Capgemini.
The 2004 awards received more than 200 entries and the Boots Company collected the overall prize in front of 900 guests at a gala dinner.
This year's judging panel is chaired by Jane Gibbs, CIPS vice-president and supply chain director of Rok Property Solutions. "Competition increases each year with more organisations submitting better and better entries." she said.
The deadline for entries is 27 May, and the awards dinner will be held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on 27 October.
