Bentley Motor Company has appointed Ian Davies as manager of its purchase supplier production preparation department.
He said procurement now plays a key role in ensuring secure supply and maintaining the quality of parts, while the company steps up production from the current level of 2,000 cars a year to 8,000 by 2007.
"Bentley is moving towards volumes that we are not used to," Davies said.
"We have to ensure our standards are met 100 per cent.
"I will also be making sure that our suppliers' plans are continually effective in supporting our new models."
Davies joins the company from RWD Technologies, a manufacturing consultancy, and was previously a quality engineer at Toyota UK.
He has also worked for Perkins Engines and Faurecia, an automotive supplier of seats, cockpits and doors.
