Channel Tunnel operator Eurotunnel has shaken up its purchasing and contracts staff.

Patrick Etienne, who worked on special projects in the chief executive's office, has been appointed purchasing director.

Jean-Pierre Ramirez, former financial controller of the railways division, is now director with responsibility for railway access contracts.

The two internal appointments replace Charles Barral and Jerome Réquillart respectively.

In addition, a post of chief operating officer has been created. Jean-Pierre Trotignon, who fills the new role, is responsible for the purchasing, infrastructure, shuttle, freight commercial, passenger commercial and HR divisions.

The changes follow the appointment of Eurotunnel's new chief executive, Jacques Gounon, in June.
