CIPS and specialist recruitment agency GPA have teamed up to provide a new recruitment service for procurement and supply chain professionals.

CIPS Recruitment powered by GPA, launched this month, will replace all the recruitment activity for purchasers that is currently undertaken by the two organisations.

Michael Campbell, director of business development at CIPS, said the service had been created in response to a demand both from organisations and members.

He said they want a dedicated professional service that can help match the right people with the right skills, whatever stage they may be at in their career.

The service will cover everyone from graduates to senior executives and will have an interim register to match clients and individuals according to skills and short, medium or long-term needs.

"It is our aim to become the company of choice for purchasing and supply professionals and for organisations wishing to develop, expand or change their purchasing function," said Campbell.

Gail Pyrah from GPA added: "As the purchasing profession continues to grow and expand its influence across businesses, we are seeing an ever-growing demand for our services and skills.

"This partnership brings together two very strong teams."
