A charity is calling on buyers to send donations that it can auction on eBay.

Auction My Stuff, part of the charity Community Links, sells items on the auction website and uses the money to help victims of social exclusion in east London. Accenture, Tesco and law firm Clifford Chance support the venture.

Chris Allwood, the charity's business development, told Supply Management: "In many cases, buyers are the people who decide when to dispose of old stock. We want all buyers to ask that those supplies are sent to us rather than landfill sites."

He said the only criteria for donations are that they can be advertised on eBay and can be delivered by the charity to the final customer.

Companies should deliver items to the Tate & Lyle warehouse in Silvertown, London, where donations are currently stored. The charity will arrange collection if an item is particularly valuable.
