Consultancy firm Deloitte has awarded first place in their list of fastest growing technology firms to a supply chain company.

Oxfordshire-based ByBox operates a network of secure mailboxes, which allow users, mainly field engineers, to receive packages without being present at the time of delivery. It came first in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking.

The system delivers items via 14,000 UK "drop-boxes" which automatically alert customers via e-mail or text when a delivery has been made.

Simon Kerton-Johnson, a partner in Deloitte's Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice, said: "For it to fulfil its potential e-commerce requires the kind of sophisticated logistics that ByBox has had the vision to develop."

Revenues at Bybox have grown from £119,235 in 2002 to £18,328,767 in 2006 and their clients include Siemens, the RAC, Coca-Cola and Fujitsu,

The company plans to expand its logistics business into France and wants to enter the business-to-consumer and consumer-to-consumer markets.
