The medical division at technology firm Smiths Group has been hit by supply chain problems.
In a trading statement the firm said overall sales and profits were in line with expectations, but its medical division suffered weak performance due to "two specific supplier issues".
The group added the problems have now been "largely resolved", but a spokesman refused to give further details about the specific issues until later in the year.
The company also had difficulties in implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning system. Smiths said it will take a "significant" period of time to put the system into place, but insisted it was a "key priority".
Smiths recently transferred production from sites in Hythe in the UK and Kirchseeon in Germany to lower cost regions.
The group will publish its six-month results on 19 March.
