US bank Comerica has signed a seven-year procurement outsourcing deal with Accenture.

The deal will cover strategic sourcing, category management, order and invoice handling, and travel and expenses processing. The value of the contract was not revealed.

Comerica has taken the step to reduce its spend on goods and services, improve its supplier relationship management and increase its use of technology.

Accenture recently came top of a list of outsourcers who could offer sustainable procurement, and seventh in the overall ranking of best procurement outsourcing providers (News, 15 November 2007).
