Eversheds has become the first law firm to join vendor diversity group Minority Supplier Development UK (MSDUK).

"Eversheds takes the issue of supplier diversity extremely seriously. There is a strong business case for us and other large organisations like ours to engage with MSDUK and its members," said Jennifer Powell, head of procurement at the law firm.

"MSDUK is working to provide a vital link between companies and some of the most vibrant sectors of the economy that were previously unaware of how to approach corporations. We hope we can play our part in working with these companies to benefit both their operations and our own."

The group now has 38 members, with eight firms having signed up since the turn of the year (Web news, 14 January). Document management firm Xerox and food services supplier Aramark UK joined the organisation in March.
