Three organisations have been short-listed to become the programme partner for London's Crossrail project.
The suppliers include Legacy 3, a venture between Parsons Brinckerhoff, Balfour Beatty Management and Davis Langdon; Bechtel and Transcend, a consortium made up of AECOM, CH2M Hill and Nichols Group.
The winning organisation will be expected to deliver the £16 billion project to build a new railway stretching across London and the South East, on time and to budget. Stage two tenders will be submitted in December and the winning partner will be announced early next year.
Steve Rowsell, head of procurement at Crossrail, said: "One of the keys to success in this part of the bidding process is chemistry between us, as a client, and our programme partner. We look forward to having an integrated team in place next year to deliver this world-class railway."
Last month Crossrail appointed David Orr, the president of the Institute of Civil Engineers, to provide procurement advice on the project (Web news, 1 October).
