Procurement outsourcing company Cost and Expense Solutions (CES) has acquired rival Expenses4Less (E4L)for an undisclosed amount.

The UK firm completed the takeover of E4L - a subsidiary of HR outsourcing company Direct Law and Personnel - last week in a bid to expand its services.

CES managing director Damian McCoy told SM that the company caters for medium-sized to large clients, while E4L focuses more on SMEs. He hopes the acquisition will offer customers a more rounded service.

E4L's director Judith Fiddler will remain in charge of the business. She said: "By combining the client bases of both companies we can have an immediate impact on our bottom line."

CES's customers include social care firm Bryn Melyn Care and Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Blackburn.
