Comedian Hugh Dennis has been confirmed as the host of the 2009 CIPS Supply Management Awards.

He will warm up the audience before announcing the winners in the 11 team and two individual categories, as well as the overall winner.

Dennis is well known for being a team captain on the BBC's satirical comedy quiz Mock the Week. He also hosts the Now Show on BBC Radio 4 with comedy sidekick Steve Punt and appears in the broadcaster's award winning sitcom, Outnumbered. He is also a formidable impressionist and voice-over artist, providing the vocals for a number of the characters in satire show Spitting Image, which aired in the 1980s and 1990s. This year's awards ceremony is being held in association with Ariba and is also sponsored by CPO Agenda, Hays Purchasing & Supply, RS and technology firm QinetiQ Commerce Decisions.

The black-tie gala dinner will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, on 9 September. For more information and to book your table, go to www.cipssmawards.com or call the awards team on 020 7880 6214.
