Procurement is set to hit the silver screen in new Hollywood film Shoot the Buyer.

The latest big budget production will star Clive Owen as a corrupt CPO embroiled in a multi-billion dollar IT scam that threatens to bring down a revered US firm.

Early previews suggest the film will climax in a dramatic shootout as Owen is hunted by a gang of renegade sales executives seeking revenge after missing out on lucrative contracts because of the fraudulent scheme.

"Buyers are on the front line of fraud and corruption, exposed to this kind of thing every day. It's proving to be an exciting project," said hotshot Egyptian director Mustafa Chack.

Meanwhile, Owen said he was enjoying his latest role: "The unlikely hero has got all the ingredients I look for. He's intelligent, sexy, complicated and a dab hand with a spreadsheet."

It also stars US superstar 50 Cent and his lesser known sidekick Two Bob Dave. The film will premiere at the Shangri-la Film Festival on 31 September.
