The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) is already acting on advice in its OGC Procurement Capability Review - before the document has been publicly released.
An FCO spokeswoman confirmed it is advertising a new role of commercial director, stemming from a recommendation in the OGC's review, due to be published next week.
The FCO will be the latest in a string of government departments, including the Home Office and the DWP, to appoint a commercial director.
The role is being advertised at a salary of about £80,000 plus a London location allowance and benefits and is open for applications until 3 April. The candidate specifications include CIPS membership.
