Procurement has led a project to outsource recruitment services at LSG Sky Chefs, the world's largest supplier of in-flight services.

The firm unveiled a deal with global HR consultancy Kenexa yesterday in a bid to drive down staff hiring costs. The financial terms of the contract and targeted savings were not disclosed.

Meredith Guy, director of procurement for LSG Sky Chefs, said: "We needed a proven solution that could centralise our recruiting function while still providing a human touch for prospective employees.

"The flexibility to combine on-site and back-office resources as well as address our multiple languages needs made Kenexa's recruitment process outsourcing solution the most attractive for us."

LSG employs more than 30,000 staff at 200 customer service centres in 49 countries. Kenexa will use its expertise, such as candidate assessment and analysis, to find staff for LSG across the world.

LSG services include airline catering, in-flight equipment and retail and management of on-board services. The firm manages the complete in-flight service supply chain for several airlines, including Qantas and Lufthansa.
