Johnson & Johnson CPO appointed CFO at Hill-Rom Holdings

Johnson & Johnson’s chief procurement officer Mark Guinan is leaving the company to become chief financial officer at US medical technologies manufacturer Hill-Rom Holdings.

As such, Guinan will also become a senior vice-president at the firm when he joins on 13 December. He succeeds Greg Miller, who has been Hill-Rom's CFO since 2005.

During his career with Johnson & Johnson, Guinan held a number of senior financial positions. Titles included vice-president – finance, in the global pharmaceutical group, and vice-president of finance, in the global R&D and business operations division.

“I am delighted to have someone with Mark’s impressive credentials and established capabilities joining our team,” said John Greisch, Hill-Rom’s president and CEO. “We expect that, under his leadership, Hill-Rom will continue to deliver great operating results and increasing shareholder value in the future.”

Meanwhile, Alex Thiel, the group head of procurement for global pulp and paper group Sappi, has been promoted to the post of CEO of Sappi Southern Africa, with effect from 1 December. Thiel became group head of procurement for Sappi in January 2008 and has worked at Sappi for 21 years.
