CIPS fellow Chris Jones, managing director of procurement consultancy SCIP, has been appointed chairman of the board at a supply chain software company.
Jones, a former global procurement manager at Shell, has become chairman of Korecentric, where he will provide insight into the supply chain management requirements of the firm’s customers.
He said: “The management team has identified and focused on the business opportunity available to clients who want to improve efficiency of procurement and supply chain management within capital projects and this mirrors my own beliefs.”
He said Korecentric provided tailored products to a market neglected by big developers and he looked forward to being part of its growth.
Jones has been in procurement and supply chain operations for more than 35 years, largely in the energy industry.
Zack Hodge, managing director of Korecentric, said: “Chris brings with him extensive experience of the practicalities of procurement within capital projects, with a track record that is second to none of success and achievement in this area.”
The company said Jones’ experience will “benefit the company’s business development as well as the supply chain management requirements of its customers".
