BBC comedy star to host CIPS awards

6 July 2011

6 July 2011 | Adam Leach

The host for the upcoming CIPS Supply Management Awards 2011 will be Bafta-nominated actor, comedian and writer Miranda Hart.

Over the past 12 months, the Torquay-born star has received a number of honours, including three Royal Television Society awards for her self-titled sitcom Miranda. But this September she will instead be rewarding the achievements of procurement professionals.

In association with BravoSolution, the awards celebrate excellence in purchasing and supply management. The evening will see procurement teams battle it out in 10 categories, including ‘Best contribution to the reputation of the procurement profession’, ‘Best people development initiative’ and ‘International purchasing project of the year’.

There will also be individual awards to recognise the ‘CIPS procurement and supply chain management professional of the year’ and ‘CIPS young procurement and supply chain management professional of the year’.

The CIPS Supply Management Awards 2011 will be held on 14 September at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, when 1,200 people are expected to gather for the presentation. To book a table, call Charlotte Bogaert on 020 7324 2764 or go to www.cipssmawards.com for details.

Sponsors for the night are American Express, RS, QinetiQCommerce Decisions and HaysProcurement.
