Global drinks manufacturer Diageo has appointed Thibaut Eissautier as its new chief procurement officer.

The company has been looking for a new purchasing chief since the announcement in February that former head of global procurement John Dickson was to leave the business to take up the CPO role at food manufacturer HJ Heinz. Gerry O’Hagan has been acting as interim procurement director since his departure.

Eissautier will join Diageo, which owns brands such as Guinness, Baileys and Smirnoff, on 1 August and is currently CPO and head of group R&D at McBride, the private label FMCG firm. He has also held the role of vice president of international purchasing at The Scotts Company and multiple positions at Procter & Gamble.

He will report to David Gosnell, president, global procurement and supply, and will move to London from France for the position.
